• ABOUT REC1

Small Districts, Shared Strength

Four Corners REC1 is an education service agency owned by its members — six school districts and San Juan College in northwest New Mexico. We do together what none of us could afford to do alone.

What is REC1?

REC1 is one of ten Regional Education Cooperatives in New Mexico — independent agencies established by the Legislature to serve local school districts across the state.

Each REC provides direct services to its member districts and higher-education partners, and helps carry statewide education efforts into smaller, rural communities. “We are a small REC, but we do many great things!”

Four Ways, One Region

Everything on this site falls into one of these. If you need something that doesn’t, ask anyway.

Our mission

  1. Listen to member districts and help their needs reach policymakers
  2. Equip teachers and staff with the training and tools their roles demand
  3. Grow career and technical education with local business and industry
  4. Expand services to meet member districts’ needs, on a stable financial footing
