What's going on at REC-1?

We are very excited about the Statewide Technology Initiative as described below and wanted to pass this along to our partners.

We are contracting for a facilitator for the Academic Competitions and the Student Led Call Center. We are also looking to contract a Digital IT Coach.

Digital Learning Coach

Overview: The Digital Learning Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and providing site-based and virtual training and leadership in the area of technology integration in schools and classrooms across the REC-1 region and beyond. The Digital Learning Coach will work to further student, teacher, and administrator use and understanding of integrating technology tools and strategies to enhance student learning and increase student engagement.
Contract Period: November 15, 2022, through May 15, 2023 (6 months)
Estimated Weekly Hours: 30+
Contract Amount: $5,900 monthly, maximum of $35,400 (inclusive of GRT)

REC-1 Tech Project Facilitator

Overview: The Contractor will serve as the site facilitator for the REC-1 / RECA State Technology Initiative to support initiation and implementation of two project components: (a) Student Academic Competitions and (b) Student-run Technology Help Desks. The services support the REC-1 involvement in the greater Region Education Cooperative Association statewide technology initiative.
Contract Period: November 15, 2022, through May 15, 2023 (6 months)
Contract amount: $5,000 monthly, maximum of $30,000 (inclusive of GRT)
Available Facility & Resources: REC-1 will provide a work space, office equipment and supplies, Internet connectivity, a virtual training center, etc. for use as-needed by the Coach.

NMRECA and NMPED have collaborated in an effort to assess the needs of its member districts and identify unique solutions as well offer support in the following areas:

1- EXPAND ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY

Providing additional funding directly to
New Mexico School Districts to support
Informational Technology, Educational
Technology, and Professional
Development.

2- FREE STATEWIDE TECHNOLOGY CALL CENTER/HELP DESK

Student-driven technology support desk available to New Mexico School Districts, Students, and Families.

3- EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY

Statewide Academic Competition for
Students. The RECs will hire multiple Digital Learning Coaches to help teachers implement technology in the classroom.

4- RECs PROVIDING STATEWIDE
TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

Each NMREC provides free virtual monthly professional development.
Four Corners REC-1 has already begun offering Tech Bits Professional Development.
Tech Bits are one hour Tech Sessions on Excel, Adobe, etc. and can be found on our Professional Development page (https://nmrec1.org/professional-development) as well as on the REC-9 website. Interested parties can also register to attend each session for free! Videos of each session will also be also posted on our Tech Bits Page and on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0HWCAyH3At8RXIGZLwNAUw).
