Excel 4: Expanded Excel Techniques for Understanding Your Data

Continuing our exploration of Excel to understand and interpret student data, we will take a dive into statistical operations and graphing, which is where we really begin to understand what our student data mean and how they can inform our instructional planning. (If you're a Google Sheets user, these techniques will also work.)

We STRONGLY recommend that you watch prior sessions for the Excel techniques for student data (especially Tech Bits 3). We'll use those prior techniques in this session.

Updates from Nan -

Thank you, superintendents and principals, who have responded to the State Technology Initiative questionnaires. To date, we have only received data from 2 districts and 7 schools within those districts. If you have not responded, please take a few minutes to respond so we can make the instructional time we provide appropriate and relevant for your teachers.

At this point in time, it appears that schools would like help integrating devices such as laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks in the classroom. These can be integrated quite easily using the software that is available. I will be narrowing down which software items to focus on for the first training session.

Keep watching for dates and times for these sessions!
